Great People VS The Right People

So one would think when running a business that you have to get the best people on your team.  The smartest, the most experience and the highest level of education, are all key items most companies look for.  All these things are important and will fit with some companies, however, will all of these things make someone a good fit for your company.

I think not, you can teach someone skill but you can not teach them personality.  In a book I read recently, Good to Great, Jim Collins wrote "People are not your most important asset. The right people are. Get the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus, and the right people in the right seats."  Jim Collin’s summed it up perfectly, being able to find the right people for you team is your greatest benefit!

You might find someone with great experience and has a MBA in your field, but will they fit in with your team and company culture?  Finding the right people, securing a way to keep them, then you are on your way to success.
